SSEST – Short Squoval Eating Spoon Template

The SSEST is a short squoval eating spoon template measuring 4.9″ x 1.9″ x 0.04″ (125 mm x 48 mm x 1 mm). This template is flexible enough for working on curved surfaces, but sturdy enough to survive hard use. This makes a great pocket spoon!

It’s a simple design that’s great for beginners and pros alike without inside or outside corners or points. Why waste valuable carving time drawing out the perfect spoon design? This durable template will allow you to very quickly trace the spoon design on a wood billet or spoon blank at any time during your carving to ensure a consistent and symmetric spoon.

You can use an SDK to embellish the SSEST. It has a center-line as well as two perpendicular reference lines on the handle and one in the bowl to make the process of modifying on your spoon blank easier. Trace the template and mark the ends of the reference lines on the spoon blank. Then, change the size and shape of the bowl using the center-lines as reference. Add embellishments like finials or change the shape of the handle or bowl using the various reference lines.

The SSEST is laser-cut from 1.0 mm PETG and is fully recyclable. This durable template should last years.
