Thermocouples for heat treating tools, we had these made up to our specs, Both probes are 300mm long- which means you are less likely to overheat the junction where the wire exits the probe- although these are sheathed in a stainless braid to resist heat damage, it should still be kept as cool as possible. A plug has been attached which fits our favoured readers.

We have previously used the 3mm diameter version to good effect but now tend to use the 6mm version for our heat treating – as well as being more robust it reacts at a slower speed to changes in temperature than the thinner probe, this might sound like a disadvantage but it means that it more accurately tracks the temperature changes of the blades in the furnace.
